Singing River Hospital announces military display coming to hospitals
Singing River Health System held a remembrance ceremony at each of its hospital campuses.
The ceremony at Ocean Springs Hospital paid special tribute to former healthcare workers who lost their lives while on deployment.
In their honor, Singing River announced the creation of a kind of “mini-museum” in each hospital on the Coast, full of mementos from veterans.
“By having a display case with some of the memorabilia, military coins, some medals that we hope to get donated, so that individuals who are part of the community, whether they’re military or not, can see that when they first walk in our three campuses,” said Susan Russell, chief nurse and patient safety officers. “You know, face forward, on some of the great things they’ve done and achieved and how we support them in their efforts.”
The hospitals will eventually start accepting donations for these display cases.
