Singing River Hospice of Light Hosts memorial service honors loved ones

Families across the Gulf Coast gathered in Ocean Springs to remember loved ones and celebrate their lasting impact.

Singing River Health System’s Hospice of Light hosted its third annual memorial service at Little Children’s Park.

The event gave families and friends a chance to reflect, share memories, and honored the lives of those who have passed.

The ceremony featured music, spiritual reflections, and a symbolic release of butterflies, each representing a unique life.

Organizers say the event offers comfort, connection, and support for those navigating grief. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Randy Roth said, “It gives them closure. It gives them the chance to see the nurses and the nurse aids and the doctors that cared for their loved one and when they do these things and they can wrap their hands around now that they are peacefully passed away. Our folks leave here feeling a lot better about the end of life.”

Participants were also encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones to display during the ceremony.

Hospice of Light says the memorial service is a reminder that those who have passed away are never forgotten.
