Singing River Hospice of Light holding Tree Planting ceremony

Singing River Hospital’s Hospice of Light holds a special ceremony each November in honor of National Hospice Month.

Since Hospice of Light began in 1994, a tree has been dedicated each year in memory of former patients.

Family and friends of the deceased are invited to attend the tree planting ceremony at the Pascagoula Hospital walking track.

This year’s event will be held November 10th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

WXXV spokes with Clinical Marketing Liaison Clark Finley, who explains why they hold this event every year. “Seeing the appreciation from the families to come out, not many companies, once a patient passes, you know, honors past a certain time, but to see all the families that we’ve been able to touch their lives and to serve them, to come out and get to meet each other, to mingle, and to know that they’re still in that healing process and that we still care for them.”

In addition to the tree planting event, Hospice of Light also offers bereavement counseling for families for up to 13 months.
