Singing River Healthcare Academy Hosts Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony

Pascagoula, Miss. – Singing River Healthcare Academy will hold its annual Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Pascagoula Performing Arts Center. The event will honor more than 100 graduates from various healthcare disciplines, including licensed practical nursing, certified nursing assistant, medical assistant, and phlebotomy apprenticeship programs.

The ceremony will feature keynote addresses by Mississippi Board of Nursing staff, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief of Staff, Shan Montgomery, and Practical Nursing Educator, Dr. Priscilla Burks, Ph.D. Graduates will receive certificates for the successful completion of the academy’s programs.

Singing River Healthcare Academy provides hands-on training to individuals seeking careers in healthcare, preparing students to fill critical roles in hospitals, clinics, and other medical settings. Through its comprehensive apprenticeship model, the academy aims to meet the growing demand for healthcare professionals on the Gulf Coast, while fostering a strong commitment to patient care and service.

Singing River Healthcare Academy was established as the state’s first-ever medical apprenticeship program implemented to provide growth opportunities and career pathways to improve health and save lives in our community through an improved, more diverse workforce.
