Singing River Health System recognizes Donate Life Month

Singing River Health System marked National Donate Life Month with events focused on saving lives and encouraging organ donation.

Flag raising ceremonies were held at Singing River Hospitals in Gulfport, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula to honor organ donors and their families.

This event also included registration drives, giving people the chance to sign up and learn how they can make a difference.

Health officials say the need remains critical, with more than 100,000 people waiting for life-saving transplants. 

Health officials also say just one donor can save up to eight lives and help many more.
