Singing River Health System opening drive-thru COVID testing

Singing River Health System has reopened a drive-thru test site in Gulfport.

This site at Singing River Gulfport closed in August, but with the recent surge in cases due to the omicron variant, hospital officials felt it was time to reopen it.

They’re urging those who are asymptomatic or experiencing mild symptoms to visit one of their drive-thru testing centers.

This allows SRHS to test more efficiently, reducing the amount of people requesting testing at their clinics or emergency rooms. Tim West with Singing River Clinic Operations said, “If they’re asymptomatic or mildly ill, they can wait here in the comfort of their own vehicle. We will get them in and out very quickly. Obviously, if you do want to see a provider, we do want to take of you in one of our clinics, make an appointment or come to our emergency department if you do need a higher level of care.”

Singing River Health System has free PCR testing in Gulfport and Ocean Springs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
