Singing River Health System named Center of Excellence in robotic surgery

Singing River Health System becomes the region’s first Center of Excellence in robotic surgery.

Surgeons at Singing River use the most advanced technologies to improve patient outcomes, reduce risk of wound complications, and pain post operation.

To celebrate the new award, employees played a few games and had friendly robotics competitions using the robotic surgery equipment.

Singing River has performed more than 1,500 robotic surgeries. Singing River Director of Surgical Services Shannon Barlow said, “I wanted the staff to come and join us in participating in having a fun competition on our robotic console and trying to do some fun games and again promoting team work and showing that everything we do is a part of a team and we want to them to engage and we want them to see what the robots all about.”

Singing River will continue to host their ‘Battle of the Bot’ employee competitions with all of their hospitals tomorrow in Ocean Springs and Friday in Gulfport.
