Singing River CEO Lee Bond resigns from hospital

Lee Bond has resigned as Chief Executive Officer at Singing River Health System.

The Board of Trustees made the announcement in a press release to the media, saying Bond resigned to pursue other opportunities.

“I have certainly enjoyed my journey with Singing River over the past several years,” Bond said in a statement. “I believe in the mission and hope that in my time here I left it better than when I came. I wish nothing but the best for the future of the health system and this community that I love.”

Bond will assist Singing River to transition to new leadership during and following the search for a new CEO.

“We thank Lee for his commitment to Singing River Health System over the past eight years and wish him success in his future endeavors,”  said Erich Nichols,  president of the Board of Trustees.

Tiffany Murdock will serve as interim CEO while the search for a new CEO takes place.

Bond joined Singing River as chief financial officer and was instrumental in helping lead the organization’s financial turnaround. He also served as treasurer on the Board of Directors for the hospital system.

Prior to joining Singing River, Bond served as the vice president of property operations at IP Casino in Biloxi, starting in 2005. Prior to this service, he served as the CFO for Grand Casino Biloxi. He has been a CPA and has used his accounting and financial skills in various roles since beginning his career in 1992.

He is also a licensed general contractor and is the president of a small contracting company, L.L. Bond & Company, Inc. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Alabama, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Lee has held community leadership roles in both Jackson and Harrison counties. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, the Bacot-McCarty Foundation, the Pascagoula River Audubon Center, Ducks Unlimited Gulf Coast Chapter and is the Past President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Mississippi Society of CPAs.

Bond is a graduate of Leadership Jackson County, and was recognized as a Top 10 Outstanding Community Leader for South Mississippi. He and his wife, Tammy, live in Vancleave with their two children. They are active participants at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Bond is a Pascagoula native. And his great great great grandfather is Fernando Upton Gautier, the first settler of the City of Gautier, and its namesake. His hobbies include horses and classic cars.
