Signa Artist MRI machine at Ocean Springs Hospital

The radiology department at Ocean Springs Hospital introduced their new MRI machine: the G.E. Signa Artist.

It is state of the art and helps patients feel more comfortable and has cutting edge technology. G.E. calls it ‘MAGIC’ which stands for ‘magnetic resonance image compilation.’

‘MAGIC’ gives clear and vivid images which helps doctors make better detections. The Signa Artist can see small abnormalities that are not visible with older MRI machines. It also reduces imaging time so patients can get same day results.

Testing can also go by a lot faster with the Signa machine. Dr. James Carter said, “We want to provide world class service to our patients and this is just another step in making that happen. We are going to get high resolution images of your body and we are going to find out what’s causing your problems and we’re going to get a report to your doctor so you can get the care that your deserve as fast as we can get it.”

Another feature the hospital added was a metal detector on the door of the MRI room to ensure the safety of every patient that enters.
