Shuckers set 21 franchise records
Although they came up short in the Southern League championship against the Jackson Generals, the Biloxi Shuckers have a number of things to be proud of: 21 things to be exact.
In their 2018 campaign, the Shuckers set 21 franchise records. Twelve were team records which includes things like 145 home runs and 581 runs score.
Nine were individual records. Corey Ray broke eight records during his Southern League MVP season including setting a new single season record in home runs with 27.
All-star closer Nate Griep became the franchise’s all-time leader in saves after recording 34 saves in 37 save opportunities.
His 34 saves were the most in the Southern League since 2009 and rank in the top five in Southern League history for saves in a season.
