Shuckers & Overtime Sports to Provide $925K to Stadium
During Tuesday’s meeting, the Biloxi City Council voted to modify the lease agreement. The upgrades include audio and visual equipment, entrance upgrades, signage upgrades, and suite upgrades. The Shuckers plan to complete their work by June 1st. Tim Bennett, co-owner of the Shuckers, says the team and Overtime Sports will do anything needed to help.
Bennett says, “There’s several elements that if we didn’t do this, it would probably take another three, three and a half months, which only delays the opening and loses more money for the city. So we’re trying to take an effort to become a team player so to speak, expedite the construction so we can get in and play ball sooner.”
In exchange, the city will forgo the $2 surcharge on tickets in 2015 and 2016.
