Shuckers Finish Season 72-67
Earlier this week, the Biloxi Shuckers ended their season coming up just short of the playoffs.
After ending the first half of the season a game and a half back from a playoff spot, the Shuckers ended the second half of their season even closer, finishing only half a game back from that coveted playoff spot.
The Shuckers still ended up finishing above .500 with a record of 72-67.
While wins and losses will always determine the success of a team, the Shuckers believe it’s also about getting their players to the next level. Shuckers Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting Chris Harris said, “It’s about developing players, getting them to the next step, getting them to the Major Leagues. This year’s team, we knew it was going to be more on the development side, a lot of younger players. Last year’s team was definitely more advanced. You’re never satisfied and going into this offseason we even have a better idea of what this community is and what this community wants and they’ve supported us so much here in the last year and a half.”
Hear more on the Shuckers season when Chris Harris will be the speaker for this Friday’s “Our Love Affair with Baseball” luncheon at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art.
