Shuckers fan enjoy home opener despite postponement
Although fans didn’t end up seeing any baseball being played tonight at MGM Park, many fans still filtered into the ballpark for what was supposed to be the Shuckers home opener.
Baseball fans of all ages cruised along the concourse and filled the stands prior to the first pitch of the season being thrown out, something that didn’t end up happening.
Unlike Opening Day in the past, fans were required to wear masks when not actively eating or drinking and a limited number of tickets for socially distanced seats were sold.
Despite the eventual postponement and the COVID protocols, fans were just happy to be back at the ballpark. Shuckers fan Jordan Bedell said, “They’ve got a great beverage cart down the third base line over there. The beverage cart’s great. And I’m looking forward to the crack of the bat. I just love hearing it, just seeing all the people out here having a good time.”
Shuckers fan Kendall Noble said, “I grew up playing baseball. Love watching it. I eat, sleep, and breath baseball, so this is just fantastic. I’m looking forward to seeing some home runs. I’m going to be in right field and hopefully I catch one. Probably bare-handed. So y’all watch out for it.”
Weather permitting, fans will be able to witness baseball at MGM Park tomorrow night and all summer.
