Shuckers canned food drive at MGM Park

The Biloxi Shuckers aimed to can more than just the opponents at MGM Park Sunday evening.
The team hosted the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and also partnered with the Knights of Columbus to host a canned food drive to support the needy. This is an annual event that gives fans the opportunity to give back to the community on the Gulf Coast while also earning prizes and discounts in the Shuckers fan shop.
Bill Haas with the Knights of Columbus explains the true importance of the can drive. “The incentive is to give back and the Shuckers have helped us out by if we brought five cans per person they gave us a coupon that we could use at the shop, but the incentive really is from the heart as a give back to the community because the community has been so good to us.”
Haas told News 25 that he was able to fill the car with canned goods from the event and he hopes this event goes on for years to come.
