Shuckers 2B named to Futures Game

Keston Hiura’s journey through the Milwaukee Brewers farm system has been a quick one and next weekend the Biloxi Shuckers second baseman will get the chance to show everyone why.

The top-ranked prospect of the Brew Crew has been named to the 2018 Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game and will play for Team USA on July 15th at Nationals Park.

From the time Hiura was taken in the first round in 2017 it took him less than a year to get the call-up to the Double-A ranks. Ever since that June 1st promotion, he’s only gotten better, improving his .320 batting average to .326 as the three-hole hitter.

He’ll be following in the footsteps of Mauricio Dubon in 2017, Josh Hader in 2016, and Orlando Arcia in 2015.

As for tonight’s game versus the M-Braves, the Shuckers are back in the win column following a brief Fourth of July hangover. They take this one by the final of 7-4.
