Shuck Cancer Bike Ride in Downtown Biloxi
Bicyclists from across the Coast hopped on their bikes and road around Downtown Biloxi this evening to benefit local cancer patients.
As a part of the American Cancer Society’s Shuck Cancer Fundraising Event, Shucker of the year honoree Bobby Gillon of the District on Howard teamed up with Biloxi Bicycle Works to put on a seven-and-a-half-mile fun ride.
One hundred percent of the money raised tonight goes toward transportation costs for Coast cancer patients to get their treatments and appointments. Gillon said, “Bart Luther and the Biloxi Bicycle Shop have built a phenomenal community down here and they’ve helped bring this city together for outdoor exercise, healthy living. It just made sense to do something like this and tap into this to help raise money for a great local cause.”
Over the next month, Shucker honorees will be holding fundraising events across the Coast as a part of Shuck Cancer Gulf Coast.
The Shucker of the Year will be announced on June 11th.
