Shrimp season officially kicks off in Mississippi

Shrimp season has officially kicked off.

Any and all shrimpers are able to take to the Mississippi waters, provided they have the permitting and licenses.

Shrimp season north of the intracoastal waterways run until just after midnight on New Years Day while south of those waterways and west of the Gulfport shipping channel close just after midnight on May 1st, 2025.

The City of Biloxi, Harrison County, and St. Michael Catholic Church are also happy to announce the 95th Blessing of the Fleet. During that event, the shrimp king and queen will be crowned as well.

The 95th Blessing of the Fleet is scheduled to take place July 6th at the Slavonian Lodge and then on July 7th at the Great Lawn in front of Harrah’s Casino.
