Shrimp season begins tomorrow
Everybody get ready for fresh gulf shrimp.
The Department of Marine Resources will open up Mississippi waters for the 2018 shrimping season at 6 a.m. tomorrow.
Recreational and commercial shrimp season north of the Intracoastal Waterway will close on December 31st at midnight.
Areas south of the waterway and west of the Gulfport Ship Channel will close to shrimpers at midnight on April 30th 2019.
Any boat engaged in catching or transporting shrimp from Mississippi waters must be licensed or permitted by the DMR before dropping their nets.
