Shots Fired Outside of the Social Security Office in Moss Point
Police are searching for a black male who fired shots outside of a social security office in Moss Point this morning.
The shooting happened around 10:30 a.m. at the office on Highway 63.
Police Chief Art McClung tells News 25 the man fired about three of four shots in the air, after leaving the social security office disgruntled about something that happened inside.
Authorities say he did not point the gun at anyone and there were no reported injuries. The man then drove away in his white Chrysler 300. “Currently, what we do have, we do have firing a firearm within the city limits which is a misdemeanor. After reviewing the video, hopefully later on today or tomorrow we’ll determine if there are any other charges. We also notified the FBI because the social security office is a federal building. It will be up to them whether they pursue charges on him or not,” said Chief McClung.
If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to call the Moss Point Police Department at 228-475-1711.
