Shots Fire As Kidnapping Turns Into Chase

A woman and her son are safe and a suspect is behind bars after a weekend kidnapping lead to a high speed chase and ended in gunfire in Jackson County.
Authorities say a man kidnapped a woman and her son in Alabama and traveled to Pascagoula early Sunday morning.
A vehicle ran a red light at Market Street and Highway 90 almost hitting the deputy’s car.
The deputy tried to stop the vehicle which led to a pursuit along Highway 90.
According to authorities “Terrell Lee Johnson” fired shots at the deputy’s car and threw items out of both sides of the vehicle as it continued west on Highway 90.
Authorities tell News 25 a mobile woman was the one driving the vehicle.
She told police she and her 16 year old son were forced into the car at gun-point by the suspect.

“They knew him and he had hurt her other son, and she was worried about his condition so we called Mobile county and they in fact, had detectives at the scene and were trying to locate the son. They found the door open and found evidence of a struggle and a fight.”

The chase ended at the Golden Nugget Casino parking lot in Biloxi and Jackson County deputies were able to arrest Johnson.
