Shopping local at the Community Market every Tuesday and Thursday in Biloxi

Vendors selling all sorts of goodies gather underneath the I-110 overpass on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Vendors selling fresh produce, plants, and jewelry, among other things, sets up for a community market every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This summer, the market has finally made its comeback from COVID.  Two years ago, things looked much different as there were only three vendors at the peak of COVID, but now vendor space is almost maxed out and the place is once again bustling with activity.

Community Market Manager Tina Cowart encourages everyone to shop local and visit not just their market, but others too. “Give these people an opportunity to sell and help them financially, actually, but also to come down and possibly enjoy yourself too. Get out and enjoy the fresh air and possibly make a friend or two.”

This Thursday, the market will host a festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Apart from the vendors, there will be live entertainment, demonstrations, hourly giveaways, and themed activities.
