Shoppers and vendors prepare for the holidays at Christmas in July arts and crafts fair

Christmas music was blaring in Pascagoula over the weekend during the second annual Christmas in July Arts and Crafts Fair.

If the music alone wasn’t enough to get folks in the Christmas spirit, an appearance from Santa Claus sure did the trick.

Santa was at the Jackson County Civic Center, along with more than 62 vendors.

Event Chairman Eddie Brewer said immediately after last year’s event they started planning again for this year’s event since so many shoppers had a great shopping experience.

Vendors were selling everything from ornaments and books to clothes, art, and more.  Brewer said, “It’s almost six months until Christmas time. We want people to come out and start shopping. My wife has already brought Christmas gifts for the grandkids. That’s the whole idea. Go ahead and start shopping early for Christmas. We had a slow group of people come through, buyers, but it’s been steady.”

This weekend’s Christmas in July was free. In case you missed it, organizers say it will be back again next year.
