Shooting – 3100 block of 7th Ave

On May 22, 2018 at 11:38 p.m., Officers responded to the 3100 block of 7th Avenue in reference to a report of a vehicle in a ditch after hearing gunshots in the area. Officers located a Nissan Altima occupied by an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment and air lifted to USA Hospital in Mobile Alabama. His condition is critical. Gulfport Patrol, Crime Scene Units, and Detectives responded. The resulting investigation revealed that the male was shot while occupying the parked Altima in the 3100 block of 7th Avenue. It was stated that two black males were observed fleeing the area on foot. We will update this release as the investigation develops.
