Sherral’s Diner to be featured on America’s Best Restaurants

CARRIERE, MS:  – Local restaurant Sherral’s Diner will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants in early December 2024.

America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on December 3rd.

Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners Jeremy and Jennifer Hepler about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.

Sherral’s Diner offers a daily Southern comfort food buffet with numerous specialties of the house in a homey, cozy atmosphere. Recipes have been handed down through the family, and a wide array of hearty dishes are available, from fried chicken to homemade soups, honey glazed ham, sweet potato casserole and freshly baked desserts.

Sherral’s was originally opened by Jeremy’s parents, which they ran from 1994 to 2005 “until Hurricane Katrina did away with that,” Jeremy says. He and Jennifer reopened the popular eatery in 2013, utilizing recipes from his mother and grandmother.

The Heplers met working at a Shoneys, and although they have degrees in other fields (interior design and social work) they always felt called to run a restaurant.

“It’s not that we had always planned to go back into the restaurant business, but I guess it just kept calling back to us,” Jeremy explains.

The Heplers are hard pressed to choose popular menu items to showcase in their episode, but note the fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, jambalaya, catfish, Mardi Gras salad, and the red beans are all top sellers.

“Everybody brags on the red beans,” Jennifer says.

They are looking forward to their episode in order to bring in more business and showcase their family-friendly eatery to the community and travelers alike.

“We want to [show] people that don’t know about us already what we’re all about. And of course, as always, we’re always looking for ways to increase sales,” Jennifer says.

America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Tuesday December 3rd from 9 am to noon CST. The press is invited to attend.
