Sheriff warns of phone scam in Harrison County

On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Sheriff Troy Peterson announced an ongoing phone scam in Harrison County.

According to Sheriff Troy Peterson, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints of and ongoing phone scam where unknown individuals are calling Harrison County residents and threatening them by arrest if they don’t send them money for missing jury duty.

Sheriff Peterson stated that law enforcement does not call anyone regarding jury duty and that it is a phone scam.
