Shelters opening in South Mississippi due to cold weather

Due to anticipated cold weather conditions, cold weather shelters will be opening in South Mississippi.

The Kenny Fournier Multipurpose Building on Automall Parkway in D’Iberville will be open Monday December 29 and Tuesday, December 30.  The shelter opens at 4:30 p.m.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi is opening a cold weather shelter for pets in need. They can be dropped off between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Pet Resources Department. Pets can be picked up by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31.

The Poplarville Community Saferoom, located at 124 Rodeo Street, will open this afternoon at 5:00 PM. Pets are not allowed. Please bring anything you may need (food, water, etc.)
