The Shed returns from the Memphis in May BBQ competition as winners
The Shed BBQ and Blues Joint from Ocean Springs returns home from a week at the worldwide Memphis in May Barbeque competition.
As the 16th year competing in the world-wide championship, the Shed traveled to Memphis and brought home some trophies.
The Shed won first place in the Kingsford Tour of Champions, tied in three-way tie in the turkey competition, and won first place in the Recycling Award.
Co-Owner Brad Orrison tells News 25 they ‘didn’t bring home the overall grand championship trophy, but they met their goal to walk across the stage twice and knocked it out of the park.’ “It’s a long week of partying, a lot of hard work, but bringing home trophies, not only for the employees to see, but also our families and our kids and our customers, it’s a gratifying feeling.”
Myron Mixon of Jack’s Old South won the overall competition this year. It’s his fifth grand championship in the contest.
