Shannon Nobles sworn in as D’Iberville Chief of Police
The D’Iberville Police Department has officially promoted Officer Shannon Nobles to the role of chief of police.
Chief Wayne Payne has officially passed on his badge to the new D’Iberville Chief of Police Shannon Nobles.
Friends, family, D’Iberville police officers, and members of police departments across the Coast attending the swear-in of Chief Nobles as he becomes the second chief in the department’s history.
Chief Nobles has 25 years of law enforcement experience and was one of the first officers hired to the police department when it was established in 2008.
He will be following in the footsteps of former Chief Wayne Payne who spent the last 14 years with the department. Chief Nobles said, “The big thing is focusing on community relations, and for us to be able to serve the community that we are serving and that we care about, we need to know what the needs are and to be able to that we need to have an active communication with the community, so I plan to continue that was done before me and continue that relationship that we have a great relationship with our community.”
Chief Payne’s last day at the police department is March 11th.
