Shaggy’s Restaurant in Gulfport takes home Golden Chef Award
Shaggy’s Restaurant in Gulfport took home the Golden Chef Award during the 38th annual Chefs of the Coast event.
For those who don’t know, the Chefs of the Coast gala is an event where guests are able to try a variety of dishes from restaurants all across the Coast.
This year, about 20 restaurants created a signature dish that guests were able to vote for as their favorite.
Shaggy’s Chef Sean Wheeler and his team won the competition by one vote with a deconstructed bacon-wrapped scallops dish.
Shaggy’s has participated in this event before and it is the second time the restaurant has won. Shaggy’s Marketing Director Collin Caranna said, “It feels great. We worked very hard to build a great team, and Chef Sean – he was our chef. He’s not here today – but Chef Sean really, really worked hard on perfecting that dish and making sure that it represented Shaggy’s the best that he could and he did definitely did because we won.”
The last time Shaggy’s won was in 2019.
