Shaggy’s and HSSM team up for adoption event in honor of National Rescue Dog Day

Today is National Rescue Dog Day! Shaggy’s restaurants celebrated by partnering with the Humane Society of South Mississippi.

Two pups, Winifred and Opal, spent the afternoon at Shaggy’s Gulfport during an adoption drive.

All of the Coast Shaggy’s locations had some of the Humane Society’s longest resident dogs available for adoption for just $14.

Like the rest of the dogs at HSSM, they are fixed, microchipped, and up to date on their shots. Shaggy’s Marketing Director Collin Caranna said, “All of our staff, every single one of them, loves dogs. That starts with our owners, rescues especially. We welcome dogs at Shaggy’s but today especially because we really want to help these rescue dogs find their homes.”

While you may have missed the opportunity to enjoy a burger and meet your new best friend, the Humane Society of South Mississippi has adoption hours from 10-5 Tuesday through Friday.
