Sexual assault of a child

A Pearlington man has been sentenced to 50 years for the sexual assault of a young girl.

Twenty-seven year-old Curtis Wathen pled guilty to two counts of sexual battery and two counts of exploitation of a child at the Hancock County Courthouse. Curtis will serve 40 years of his sentence day for day prior to post-release supervision.

The victim was five-years-old.
