Seven-year-old drowns in George County

A seven-year-old child drowned in George County after falling into a pond in the Howell Community.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene at about 2:15 Tuesday afternoon. The child was non-responsive upon arrival and was taken to George Regional Medical Center where the child was pronounced dead.

Foul play is not suspected.
