Seven Picayune student-athletes put pen to paper to continue their academic and athletic careers

On Thursday, seven Picayune student-athletes signed to continue player sports at the next level.

Reese Sorrells and Anna Leigh Robbins will both be continuing their volleyball careers at the next level. Sorrells will attend MGCCC and Robbins will be going to SWCC. They are the first Picayune volleyball players to play at the next level.

Hayley Pascal signed to the Holmes community college softball team. Addison Taggard and Kaigyn Kulas both signed to play softball at Southwest Community College. Last, but certainly not least, Brooklyn Wilson and Barcley Martinez signed to continue their softball careers at East Central Community College. After signing Taggard spoke about how cool of an opportunity this is for her and the rest of the Maroon Tide who signed on Thursday.

“It feels awesome because we have worked for our entire lives to come to this moment,” Taggard said. “We are all blessed to have that achievement and it feels great. All of those hard working hours really paid off. It hasn’t been easy, it’s been really hard but it paid off, that is what we wanted.”
