Seven Pass Christian athletes sign to next level

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV) — Pass Christian had quite the National Signing Day celebration on Wednesday afternoon, with seven athletes committing to the next level across four sports.

Several student-athletes spoke to WXXV not just about their futures, but about what their high school coaches and teammates mean to them.

“I wouldn’t be anything without the coaches and the archery team,” archery signee Jackson Drysdale said. “They have gotten me here, like, singlehandedly. They’re incredible. My teammates… my best friend, Sev, I met on the archery team, and it means so much to me. My teammates, of course, they’re so funny. They’re so fun. We have a joke: we say, ‘Hey buddy!’ To each other in school. It’s kind of like a social club, it’s just amazing.”

“It meant a lot for me,” football signee Dwight Thomas said. “Like, I’ve been here for all my life basically, so it’s fun.”

“I couldn’t ask for a better team,” soccer signee Peyton Lander said. “They were amazing. The coach… I mean, I’ve known him for a while now and he’s just been one of the best coaches to me. He’s boosted my confidence very high.”

“I wouldn’t be able to be here without them,” soccer signee Kailey Taylor said. “They’re such a great support system. They saw the long hours and the hard work and, yeah, I’m so blessed to be able to have such a great support system around me.”
