Settlement reached in Harrison County Coroner vs. Black Funeral Homes
An agreement has finally been reached in the trial between Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove and six black-owned funeral homes.
A lawsuit was filed against Hargrove last July, accusing him of intentionally discriminating against six black funeral homes by directing public business and public money to white-owned funeral homes.
The trial began Monday with three days of testimony. It was supposed to resume Monday, but will end due to the settlement reached between all parties involved.
