Seniors get active at Salvation Army Kroc Center for National Senior Health and Fitness Day

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)-Across the Gulf Coast, older adults got moving as part of a nationwide push to stay active and healthy.

At the Salvation Army Kroc Center, seniors took part in National Senior Health and Fitness Day focusing on wellness, connecting, and staying energized.

From dancing and stretching to health education and fitness activities, seniors at the Salvation Army Kroc Center spent the day focused on staying healthy and active.

The event was part of National Senior Health and Fitness Day, the nation’s largest annual wellness initiative for older adults.

Organizers say the goal is to encourage seniors to stay physically active.

With this event only being in its second year at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, organizers hope this inspires older adults to continue making health and wellness a priority year-round.

The message was simple: healthy aging starts with staying active, staying connected, and staying involved in the community.
