Seniors enjoy Easter egg hunt at the Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands
Seniors at the Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands enjoyed a fun filled morning getting into the Easter spirit.
Family members gathered with the seniors at the Claiborne to take pictures with the Easter bunny, decorate place mats, and decorate Easter bags. Life Enrichment Director Stacy Powell said, “We wanted to bring a little bit of happy for them so we brought out the Easter bunny!”
After everyone finished the fun inside, they headed outside to take part in an Easter egg hunt. The seniors watched, cheering on the little ones as they ran looking for eggs. “We love to host these kind of events for our residents. We want to bring a little bit back to them from what they had done in the past prior to moving into the Claiborne. So, maybe they hosted Easter egg hunts for their children, their grandchildren and now we want them to continue that tradition here at the Claiborne.”
Peggy O’Neal, a resident at the Claiborne, says she loves being able to see all the little kids having so much fun. “The children are just; they just make our day and they are having so much fun.”
Powell says the goal at the Claiborne is to keep the seniors active and enjoying life. “This is their home and we want them to enjoy.”
