Senior Awareness Health Fair

The Jackson County Senior Awareness Committee is once again making it easier for seniors in the community to get informed on healthcare.

Today, they held a senior health fair in Pascagoula at the Jackson County Civic Center. Dozens of healthcare providers and services were on hand to give out any information to the seniors.

In addition to the important information, seniors also got a chance to cut a rug and enjoy some holiday cheer with music, dancing, and pictures with jolly Ol’ Saint Nick. Darlene Brennan with the Jackson County Senior Awareness Committee said, “Information about health information and insurance information and what’s available to them in the community and what can be of service to them. There are places if they ever need it, nursing homes, rehabs, home healths. We are feeding them lunch and a little dancing, a little music, a little entertainment.”

The Jackson County Senior Awareness Committee has hosted 19 of these health fairs.
