Senator Wicker votes to confirm Scott Pruitt as EPA Administrator
Today Senator Roger Wicker voted to confirm Scott Pruitt as the next Environmental Protection Agency Administrator.
In a speech delivered to the Senate in support of Pruitt’s nomination, Wicker says he believes Pruitt can take on polluters and finalize multi-state agreements to limit pollution.
Wicker says the US needs an EPA administrator who will listen to the environmentalists, but also listen to the job creators. “When the EPA overstepped its bounds and its missions and ceased to follow the law, he challenged the EPA and I would submit to my colleagues, Mr. President, that that’s the sort of balance we need to return.”
Late this afternoon, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt was sworn in to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.
