Senate kills ballot initiative that gives residents right to vote on issues
For the fifth consecutive year the legislature has failed to restore the ballot initiative that gives Mississippians the right to vote on issues.
The only bill to restore it was killed in the Senate.
The ballot initiative was struck down by the state supreme court on a technicality in 2021 and lawmakers once again refused to put the process back in the place.
