Senate approves Mississippi U.S. Attorney picks

The U.S. Senate has confirmed President Trump’s Mississippi nominees for U.S. Attorney.

Baxter Kruger of Jackson was confirmed as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi, which includes the Coast.

Scott Leary will now serve as attorney for the state’s Northern District.

The nominations of Kruger and Leary were supported by Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and Senator Roger Wicker.

They were nominated by President Trump in July.

Kruger has recently served as the executive director of the Mississippi Department of Homeland Security.
