Senate approves ‘Gold Star Families Remembrance Week’ resolution
The United States Senate passed a bipartisan resolution last night to designate September 24th through the 30th as Gold Star Families Remembrance Week.
The resolution was introduced by Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock.
The Senate approved it unanimously and provides the nation a specific time to honor the sacrifices made by military service members who lost their lives in service to the nation.
The week encourages Americans to perfect acts of community service and goodwill to honor those lost.
The Gold Star Families Remembrance Week follows Gold Star Mother’s Day, observed on the last Sunday of September.
