Semi truck accident causing delays on I-10 in Jackson County

Traffic is delayed on I-10 in Jackson County after a semi-truck crashed and spilled cargo.

Mississippi Highway Patrol said the accident happened about 12:15 p.m. at the 76-mile marker, just east of the Moss Point exit.

The trailer on the truck was damaged, spilling the cargo into the media.

MHP spokesman Cal Robertson said the left lane of I-10 westbound was blocked while cleanup took place, and traffic was slowed in both directions.

The accident is expected to cause delays at least through 1 p.m.
