Secretary of State and Coast Native Michael Watson Weighs in as Voters Head to Polls on Municipal Primary Election Day

Tuesday morning News 25 met up with Mississippi Secretary of State, and South Mississippi native, Michael Watson in Ocean Springs as he travels to different precincts across the Coast on this Municipal Primaries Election Day.

Watson and his staff are visiting multiple cities throughout South Mississippi to ensure voters have faith in the election process and that precincts are following the rules.

The polls close at 7 pm tonight, and as long as you’re in line by then, your vote will be counted.
You also need to bring a valid I.D. with you.

“But if you forget, you can fill out an affidavit ballot, and you’ll have five businesses days to turn it in. It’s really important to go out to the polls. This election matters, so please go vote,” Watson said early Tuesday.

Be sure to tune into WXXV FOX News 25 at 5 pm and 9 pm, and WXXV NBC News 25 at 5:30 pm and 10 pm as we provide the latest election results and updates as information becomes available throughout this election day.
