Second Pediatric Flu Death Confirmed in ’23-24 Flu Season

The Mississippi State Department of Health has confirmed a second pediatric flu death in the state.

This is the second pediatric death confirmed for the 2023-2024 flu season. A pediatric death is defined as the death of an individual under 18 years of age.

Flu season typically peaks in January through March in Mississippi.

Flu shots for anyone under 18 can receive vaccinations at county health departments.
