Second Liners host annual Thanksgiving dinner

Every year, the Second Liners Mardi Gras Club hosts a Thanksgiving dinner for the East Biloxi unit of the Boys and Girls Club.

The Second Liners gave the money to sponsor the meal and they had it catered by Ms. Audrey’s.

Turkey, dressing, and of course the child favorite — a Capri Sun drink — was offered.

A member of the Second Liners says they keep hosting this dinner because they know they are making a difference in the children’s lives, as well as their families.

“It does our hearts real good just to see the children and their happiness, their smile. They’re very appreciative,” said Harriet Mitchell, the chairperson over the Thanksgiving dinner. “You have them go out the door and there’s one child, when he saw the plates he said thank you…so it just does our hearts real good and then we know they are eating something at least good and a hot meal for the evening and for thanksgiving.”

The Second Liners will also host a Christmas party for the Boys and Girls Club next month.
