Second ‘Blue Crew’ Basketball Game Gulfport

Gulfport’s Blue Crew basketball team takes on the D’Iberville police department and students tonight at Gulfport High.

Gulfport police spokesman Sergeant Josh Bromen tells News 25 the first game of the program was a huge success but this one will be a bit different.
Gulfport students are teaming up with the police department to face off against D’Iberville police officers and D’Iberville High School students.

Sergeant Bromen says this will build even stronger bonds between law enforcement and our youth both on and off the court.

“That was an opportunity for us to really spur this next evolution of this program which was cops and kids playing cops and kids, it allows us to mentor them not only on the court in a coaching aspect but as well as working with them in their personal lives and helping them grow and ultimately become better citizens.”

The game kicks off tonight at 7 at Gulfport High School.
