SEC cancels all spring competition due to Coronavirus

Pretty much a formality at this point, the Southeastern Conference has gone dark on the athletic front, following suit from the NCAA and other leagues across the country.

On Tuesday, the SEC announced the cancellation of all remaining sports from the 2019-2020 athletic year due to the continuing developments of the coronavirus.

This includes all SEC championship events and spring football games while other athletic activities remain suspended through at least April 15th.

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey says, “This is a difficult day for all of us. I am especially disappointed for our student athletes.”
