Seatbelt usage up in Mississippi

We have our highest rate ever recorded in seatbelt usage, according to a recent survey done by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

Seatbelt usage has climbed up to 86.6 percent, that up from 81.2 percent in 2024 and is a huge improvement from the 77.9 percent noted in 2016.

Child restraint is also at 91.8 percent for youth under the age of seven.
