Seashore Highlands Retirement Community enjoys Coffee with a Cop
Residents at the Seashore Highlands Retirement Community enjoyed chatting it up with Gulfport police over a cup of coffee and light refreshments.
The Coffee with a Cop event allowed seniors within the community to ask questions about any issues or concerns they may have in a small intimate setting.
Gulfport police answered all their questions and talked to them about things they should be on the look out for as seniors including cell phone, Medicare, and online scams. Southern Area Marketing Director Diana White said, “A lot of our people don’t necessarily get out into big crowded events. They have ambulatory issues that they have to look out for their personal safety. So, by bringing in our community partners like the Gulfport Police Department, it’s just a wonderful way for us to connect them to our residents here. So, that way they are always kind of maintaining an open line of communication and able to look out for their personal safety.”
Seashore Highlands Retirement Community has other events lined up, including a tenth anniversary tailgate party with food, games, and music provided by Donnie Taylor and Friends on April 26th from 10 to 3 p.m.
